The Giving Fund is a $10 million fundraising initiative that provides the financing that sustains the ministries of the the Religious of the Sacred Heart and plans for the future care of their elderly sisters. One of the projects that will be funded through this fundraising initiative is the the expansion and renovation of the Oakwood Facility in Atherton, California.

Avila Retirement Community, Albany, New York

An independent retirement community for seniors in Albany, NY, is contiguous to the grounds of Teresian House. The RSCJ share life with 200 other residents in an independent care facility supported by a medical team including an RN, LPN and a visiting physician assistant and doctor.

Caritas

Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the RSCJ Caritas Community was established in 2014 when a decision was made to enter an agreement with the Sisters of Charity and relocate from the RSCJ Barat Residence to Caritas, the home of the retired Sisters of Charity.

Carmel Terrace Community, Framingham, Massachusetts

Is an independent living facility in Framingham, MA. The RSCJ have formed a community and view their ministry as both internal and external as they visit with residents and provide presence while continuing to serve as spiritual directors, school trustees and mentors.

Oakwood

Oakwood, Atherton, California

Their largest retirement center and community, it has served their elders since 1971. Adjacent to Sacred Heart Schools (SHS) in Atherton, CA, the sisters are cared for by a corps of certified nurse assistants and an administrative staff, two part-time chaplains and an RSCJ community life director.

A skilled care facility in Albany, NY where 15 RSCJ live. It provides the highest quality continuum of services. In addition to the professional medical staff, the elder sisters are supported by an RSCJ Pastoral Care Coordinator and the sisters who live at Avila.

The Sarah Community, St. Louis, Missouri

Located in north St. Louis, it is a collaborative effort of five Catholic religious congregations of women that provides quality care for different levels of long-term care and retirement. The RSCJ enjoy the benefits of an independent retirement community while continuing to serve in a variety of ministries.

Upcoming Renovations at Westwood

Oakwood offers our elder sisters with three levels of care. The Westwood renovation focuses on updating the infrastructure of the independent care community space. Improved lighting and plumbing, renovated ADA bedrooms with private bathrooms, and a modernized kitchen and community room all will contribute to the quality of life for our sisters.
